A very special visit to close the third edition of Valencia Basket’s 3x3 Academy

Valencia Basket’s 3x3 Academy brought its third consecutive season to a close with a very special event at L’Alqueria del Basket. On Tuesday, June 16, players who took part in the programme this season enjoyed a closing session alongside several members of the club’s senior 3x3 teams.

Alfonso Ribera, Javier Herrero, Marina Bleda, Carlos Martínez and Alba Sánchez-Ramos spent the afternoon with the academy players, answering their questions, sharing experiences and taking part in a joint training session. This gave the younger players the opportunity to learn from athletes competing at the highest national and international levels.

During the event, the senior players highlighted the importance of daily work, consistency and continuous learning, while encouraging participants to enjoy the fast-paced and demanding nature of 3x3 basketball. They also emphasised the privilege of being able to develop their skills at a world-class facility such as L’Alqueria del Basket, an ideal environment for both sporting and personal growth.

This season, the 3x3 Academy once again established itself as a pioneering project in Spain for the development of this Olympic discipline. Throughout the year, players improved their technical, tactical and physical fundamentals through specialised training sessions while continuing to combine the programme with their regular 5x5 basketball activities.

Beyond the day-to-day training, the season featured several competitive experiences that allowed participants to put their development into practice on the court. These included the Lorca 3x3 Tournament, the Cafeteria L’Om Navibasket 3x3, the L’Alqueria Mini Open 3x3 and the L’Alqueria Open 3x3, events that contributed significantly to the players’ overall development.

With this day of learning and interaction alongside the club’s leading 3x3 players, the Academy closes a third edition that confirms the project’s continued growth and Valencia Basket’s commitment to the development of 3x3 basketball and the promotion of the club’s Culture of Effort among future generations.
